Why I invested more than 25k $USD in a game

9lives Arena is a competitive online RPG focused on skill based 1vs1 PvP. It is featuring permadeath, persistent progression, resource gathering, item crafting and the world’s first online/offline companion, Ooogy, that works for you 24/7.

Waiting for an opponent in the Inferno Arena, looking badass after equipping my character with some really cool gear.

The game caught my attention more than a year ago, when I read about the in-game blockchain economy, which I found extremely interesting from an investor’s point of view:

For me, blockchain gaming has two aspects: Playing to have fun, and investing to make money.

The game is the most fun and addictive I have ever played. It certainly is AAA+ quality. My guess is that this studio will be bought up sooner than later.

When it comes to the investment part, I have never seen a game with such huge potential for the players to earn money. I think this will be the champion when it comes to proving how making money in a blockchain enabled game will change how we approach games in the future, not only to have a good time, but to make money at the same time.

With the blueprints currently for sales in their webshop, you can actually start a business by crafting and selling gear to other players. Some of those blueprints are backed with a lot of enjincoin, making them almost free to buy.

Yes, the price might seem insane, but due to very limited supply, you could have struck gold buying it.

After playing this game more or less non-stop for more than a year, I am convinced that it will be hugely successful, and probably grow a huge user base. My guess is more than 1 million players first year after release.

If you want to get a piece of this, you should check out their shop. There are still a few steals, but they will sell out fast. I have invested 25000 $USD so far, and I have made back 20000 $USD already by selling some on the market. I already regret that, should have kept them. This game is a potential goldmine, so I would recommend investors in the blockchain/gaming space to check it out.

The beauty of this game is mesmerizing.

Check out my other love letters to this game. Hope to see you in the arena!
